Hi, I'm Jill!
I'm a postdoctoral scholar at NC State University in the GEMMA and Gage labs. My work aims to create robust nitrogen-efficient maize using ancestral teosinte genetic variation.
I earned my PhD in the Ferris Lab at Tulane University from the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. My dissertation focused on phenotypic plasticity and local adaptation using the Mimulus guttatus species complex. Much of my research focused on the adaptive significance and genetic basis of leaf shape plasticity.
